Ingredients

Its So Saucey!

Marinara: Roma tomatoes, basil, shallots, garlic, red wine, natural, salt and our family secret.

Roma Tomatoes (Pomodori)

Roma tomatoes pack a powerful nutritional punch. Only 37 calories per cup and an excellent source of vitamin C, A and K. Roma tomatoes are very heart healthy as they are low in acid and sodium. The Roma tomato is the best choice for sauces as they are meaty, with very few seeds. (Used in all 3 of our red sauces)

Basil (Basilico)

Basil is the most common herb used in Italian cooking. Basil has many aromas, Lemon, Genovese and sweet basil. Genovese basil is the basil found in our sauce.  Not only does it add rich flavor it is very healthy. Basil is rich in antioxidants that fight many diseases including cancer. Basil acts as an ant-inflammatory agent and helps reduce stress. (Used in all of our sauces)

Garlic (Aglio)

Garlic is the most common herb used in Italian cooking. Garlic tastes bitter and harsh when tasted alone, but when added to  different dishes, it adds amazing flavors. But garlic is more than just a  spice; garlic is full of nutrients that can give the body many  benefits. Garlic is a great source of manganese and vitamin B6.  (Used in all of our sauces)

It's So Saucey!

Arrabiata: Roma tomatoes, yellow onion, basil, garlic, roasted red peppers, crushed red peppers, natural salt, red wine and our family secret.

Shallots (scalogno)

Shallots are in the onion family, however they resemble garlic in shape. Shallots are very mild yet add a unique flavor. Overall, shallots have better nutrition profile than onions. On a weight  per weight basis, they have more antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins  than onions.  (used in our Marinara and Arrabiata sauces).

Yellow (Giallo Cipolla) Red (Rosso Cipolla) Onion

Turns out that onions are nothing to cry over — these flavorful bulbs are packed with nutrients.  "They are excellent sources of vitamin C, sulphuric compounds, flavonoids and phytochemicals."  Onions are super healthy and add a spicier flavor to sauces. (Used in our Arrabiata and Primavera)

Peppers (Peperone)

Peppers are the belle  of the ball at any buffet table. Crisp and incredibly sweet, these  ladies in red, green and orange are an easy sell to anyone who is not fond of vegetables.  Peppers are packed with vitamin A. Vitamin A which  is important for eye health, and vitamin C may prevent the common cold. Roasted Red peppers add a fiery taste to many sauces. (Used in our Arrabiata and Primavera Sauce)

It's So Saucey!

Primavera: Roma tomatoes, basil, garlic, yellow onion, red onion, carrots, crimini mushrooms, yellow and green zucchini, red wine, natural salt and our family secret

Crimini Mushrooms (Funghi Cremini)

Criminis and  are more intensely flavored than their more widely used cousin, the white button mushroom.  Increasing consumption of whole, unprocessed foods, like mushrooms, appears to decrease the risk of obesity, diabetes and heart disease. They also promote a healthy complexion and hair, increased energy, and overall lower weight.  Their meaty texture add balance to more vegetable sauces. (Used in our Primavera sauce)

Carrots (Carota)

Carrots are a rich source of nutrients  that can promote better health and possibly prevent a number of serious  medical problems. These nutrients include vitamin A, dietary fiber,  vitamin C and calcium. Carrots have a naturally sweet flavor, when added to sauces they offer a balance to the spicier ingredients. (Used in our Primavera sauce)

Sweet Red Wine (Vino Rosso Dolce)

Aside of the many health benefits of red wine, the most important reason to add red wine to Italian food is that it brings out the natural flavors of the other ingredients while lowering the acid found in tomatoes. (Used to saute all of vegetables in all of our sauces)

Zucchini (Zucchino)

Zucchini has a light, delicate flavor, and the entire fruit is edible—the skin, flesh, seeds and flower.  Marinated in seasoned red wine and roasted will enhance their flavors.   zucchini is a low-starch fruit. Which means it is low in carbohydrates  and high in fiber. Which means it will fill you up and discourage  overeating. (Used in our Primavera sauce).

Infused Salts (Infusa Sale)

Our infused salts are made from natural  sea salt and infused with dried Tomato, Basil  and Oregano. Each salt will enhance any meal or snack. Benefit of eating natural salt is :

  • Natural salt helps to maintain a regular heartbeat due to its ability to regulate blood pressure.
